2 ideas for Blender's UI

I was thinking about:

1.) Instead of using these annoying 3-state buttons for texture mapping AND having to enter values for color, nor, dvar etc, we cound just have numeric fields for color, nor, spec, alpha…
They all default to 0 except color maybe. Negative values would represent the inversion, so we could get rid of the buttons and there would be a finer degree of control.

If this will be obsolete when the nodes come, forget what I said.

2.) We have 3 different transform widgets, although they could be merged into a single widget. I have seen that before, a widget with translation, scale and rotation handles.

Would this be worth suggesting? Opinons, please.

Ctrl-Space -> Combo (or shift-click the manipulator icons in 3d view header)

My goodness. Is there some place where this is documented? Am I living under a rock?

Read the release logs with every Blender release…

The manipulators are documented by the tooltips

But I only discovered recently that you could shift-click them to have more than one displayed at a time.

I just updated the wiki page
