This whole time I have been using the cycles material and add an image. I would use unwrap, box, cylinder or project from view. am i suppose to be turning the coordinates from flat to box and default to uv or generated?
The other question is the uvmap. where you can add in the texture size. should I be using that? i enclosed a pic of what I am talking about. I have been just clicking on faces and marking seams, that show I have been uv unwrapping but, I think I need to study that in more detail too.
also, do you use a displacement[ATTACH=CONFIG]316590[/ATTACH] before or after a subdivide? not sure if there is a difference. figured add the displace first so the map has geometry to work with, but [ATTACH=CONFIG]316589[/ATTACH]then I thought, I’m just put a map on top of that, so i displacement should go first then a modifier to create the shape.
