First off, I doubt any of you remember me. I only posted a few times here then didn’t come back for a few months.
Second, I don’t think it would make a difference but I’m using blender 2.23 windows.
Now, first off, I want to creat a sky. It never works for some reason, I’ve only tried the one where you use hlaf of a sphere.
Second I want to creat a bit of water. I’ve used the tutorial but the texture doesn’t look right, yet on the material button preview window it looks perfect but not in render.
You can create a sky by opening a new ‘world’ and set the color of the zenith and horizon etc… , add clouds as a procedural texture… and stars etc… but it seems you don’t want to do it that way.
You can put the texture of an image on any object and a hemisphere is cool if you animate your camera. If it’s not satisfactory subdivide it until it is. You can also point the normals inside and turn off ‘TwoSided’.
For water you can put an animated texture on your camera or lamp so it looks like your’e underwater.
Water as an animated object is just part of the Blender learning curve. Use ‘Wave’ under ‘Effects’ a few time at different values on a subdivided plane, add a texture and ‘Bob’s your Uncle’, easy as that.
On the header bar of the buttons window is the icon for the ‘Animation Buttons’, F7.
You can also find more info in the PDF in the Documentation section of www.blender.org (not the documentation forum).
