2008 Chevy Camaro

I am sure you already know this but try to avoid triangles, and to the left yof the circel(to the right of the giant gap where the lower grille is supposed to be) your topology breaks down. Also you have an insane amount of triangles all gonnected to one point right where the headlights are (to the right)

This is a post (http://blenderartists.org/forum/showpost.php?p=1604235&postcount=8) (from my camero thread) written by tdietz87, he showed me some useful stuff. Hopefully that can be of some use to you.

I deleted that entire triangle area, which turned out to only be 3 verices, and completely rebuilt it using squares. It looks a lot cleaner now, thanks! What do you mean by topology breakdown? If your saying it needs to look like the one posted by tdietz87, will I be able to fix it or do I have to completely delete and restart that area?

(take a look at the pic) What i mean is that is is just an array of squared, it needs to flow. so yeah kinda like what tdietz87 was talking about… Whether or not you want to delete or just retopoligize is up to you

I’ve got a bit of a problem. It seems that I have deleted everything from the doors forward and cannot undo back enough to retrieve it. I have a backup file, but that doesn’t have the wheel sides, doors, or remade front. I am sad… :frowning:

maybe you moved stuff to a diff layer? it seems you deleted, or did you actually delete? you can always check the backup directory, where blender does auto saves every now and then (the default is C:/tmp)

I managed to get it back by using an empty, but now it is all one object. I guess I can separate it later.

What do you mean?

I added an empty and in the links and materials section I clicked the up/down arrow and selected the object and the object was returned. It was off on rotation and scale, but I fixed that.

Added the trunk and the roof.

A much better render at a different view.

Here’s an update. I think I will stop working on this now and maybe come back to it later. In the mean time, any suggestions on what car I should make next? (Preferably easy, not to many details  )

The map was a picture of a photography studio, in case you couldn’t tell from the picture.

Wow lol the renders are terrible…sry…
And you messed up on the rims, i suggest finding an angled view reference, and fix them.
The car itself looks pretty good though, so nice job on your first car mate!
As for another car, i see alot of people doing bmw s, bu you can always browse the-blueprints site, and see if you can find something by just browsing…

I know, the renders are bad, but I can’t figure out two things: First, how to get the reflections to actually “flow” from one piece to the next, they always get cut off at the next piece. Also, I don;t know how to change the lighting in indigo. I can’t use Blender’s internal because the UVs are messed up when rendered. To me, the rims look like some sort of James Bond weapon intended to pop another cars tires.
