Some quick Lookdev RnD on how the felt material is going to look like in Maya. Instead of relying on displacement maps decided to have actual geometry seamlines and stitches on the felt leaves to get some of surface bumps in the felt.
Almost finalized her body sculpt and skin details. Took the Ariana Displacement from CC5 and applied it as a displacement pass. It gave me a solid ground to add more hand sculpted details to enhance certain areas.
Since she’s covered mostly in clothing, it was fairly quick to add these details to the exposed areas.
Also it was long overdue to add some basic anatomical details on her body. Since she’s not very muscular the anatomy details had to be very subtle to not overdo it.
Almost done with the textures on Rosaline’s clothing and accessories.
Note: The ropes will have a tilable rope texture to it so I’m only using it to add some dirt hence the flat color to it. And the spectacles and bottles are currently all opaque to allow me to paint the roughness variations easily but they’ll get a transparent shader at render time.
Slight change of plans. Finished texturing Rosaline’s skin textures. Hoping to finish the hair grooms on her this weekend. So would’ve been good to get the eyebrow area finalized in texture.
Created the skin texture by combining multiple skin textures and mix matching the areas that I found to be interesting and suitable for her.
Base Neutral HD Female Textures (Normal mode)
Ariana HD Textures (Overlay Mode)
Displacement Map Textures (Overlay Mode)
Headshot Projection (Multiply Mode)
Manual Painting of facial Color Zones, Selective Color Correction and freckles and skin details.
Lastly Dirt pass for the hands where she’ll be picking up some gardening stuff.
These were of course heavily color corrected and only selective areas were used. But I’m happy with the kind of detail I could get with a combination of these.
A lot of very nice screenshots but not so many blender related. While spending my time browsing this website I look forward to find some kick/inspiration thats bring me a dose of strength to do new personal work in blender. I admire Your skill but I cant find any inspiration in this thread Wish You luck in the contest anyway…
Yes I know there may not enough Blender here in my workflow. But one of the contest’s requirement was to submit the WIP images here on BlenderArtists. But at the end Blender is also capable of doing similar things although the workflow may be different but it surely is capable enough. Again accept my apologies if you find this thread a bit out of place. And thank you for your wishes!
What’s left:
-Adding Foliage to the backpot and on her beehive bun on the head.
-Rigging and Posing
-Lighting and creating a little diorama for the turntable.
-Rendering the final beauty Shots.
Yes that’s true either of the three. And I chose this platform. As it’s quite similar to the reallusion’s own forum where I’m cross posting. Helps keep the same layout on both.
So far used Blender only for the re-topo. Might use it later for some scattering and other stuff.
Sure was just pointing out that this wording isn’t entirely accurate
Good luck on the contest though! Might check in later, just need to go post some Blender breakdowns on the 2D drawings and FL Studio subreddits real quick
Even if this project is low on Blender usage it’s still a cool project and I’ve enjoyed following the progress, as have many other users of this site. Let’s focus on being welcoming instead of gatekeeping
All shots have been posed, lit and rendered. Here are some of the behind the scene shots for the same. I’ll be arranging them in a somewhat chornological order in my final submission. But I guess you’ll get the idea.
