OpenFX 1.5 is now available from our download section, including example files and sample image maps for the new features. The gallery also contains movies illustrating them in action.
New plugin animation effect for more realistic wave meshes for water modelling
New cubic environment mapping support
Misc bug fixes
I prefer Blender.
the URL does not exist when I am trying to load it…
is it correct address?
Worked for me.
Hmm…that’s still in development? Those people really need to update their site (perhaps a re-design) and establish a community (there doesn’t seem to be one). From my experience with OpenFX 1.0 (the initial release) a few years ago, I can say Blender is heaps better (better interface, faster, more stable, not to mention much smaller in file size!).
most of the stuff i was able to see wasnt that impressive at all.
well blender is playing that game since some years and build up
some respectable tools.

Yay, finally an update!
Openfx is one of the first open source programs i have ever used. I seemed very intutive. It was user friendly. With blender it took me months to start being comfortable with it. Blender is by far more sophisticated to openfx.
One feature which openfx has that blender does not have is the pen tool. I wish blender had one. If i am not mistaken the blender equvalent of a pen tool is a line that you have to extrude. May be its a perferrence issue or there is a reason why its set up that way i hope the developers change that.
like CTRL-Click?

I wish I had known that long time ago. I have spent hours extruding points grabing and moving them. that is want i had learnt from the various tutorial i ran through. months ago I almost bought a high end 3d software out of frustration .
I guess the more u become familiar with blender the more u apprieate its power.

hahaha! Your not alone! I also felt frustrated by many things I thought blender couldn’t do; now instead I prefer the way you do it in blender! ![]()

I dont get it! I select a face the ctrl klick… only snapping is happening.
Doesn’t work on faces. Select 1 vertex and then ctrl+lmb somewhere.
