2d areas are dark in color

Look at the image on one side the image is bright yellow like it is supposed to be but in the next when the opposite side of the image is facing the camera the flat areas only are dark, the 3d areas a bright yellow. if i add thickness the to the flat areas makes no difference, nor does changing the normals. Can i fix this problem or is that how 2d textures work in blender?

Hi.If you add thickness the to the flat areas you must rotate the plan or flip the noramls and unwrap the UV Texture new.
If you want to make the same texture on two sides.

  1. Switch to Editing (F9)
  2. Tab ro Edit Mode
  3. Open “Texture Face” (The object must be unwraped)
  4. Enabe Twoside button (Not the Doubble Side button under Mesh not working in BGE)

I don’t want to add thickness( too many faces causes slowing down) Are you saying there is no other way and i have to thicken?

In muttitexture it works.
In textured mode in GLSL you can make it shadeless. Or you can increase in the material bttons (F5) under Shaders the Emit to 1.000.
