As I see it the only thing that Blender lacks of to be a kick ass tool for modelling mechanical data as a CAD system is the ability to project orthographic views of user chosen zoom of top, front, side. The projection can be done as a DXF export with the hidden lines dashed. This data can then be imported to QCAD which already handles nicely 2d measurements, other draft info and printing to printer.
Does anyone have any ideas about this?
What would be the simplest solution?
