2nd sculpture in 3D software

Two days ago I made my first sculpture in Blender and in hopes of improving I made this second one. I also gave texture painting a go…
I also tried to polishing it in 2D.
I would like too know how to sculpt hair in Blender. I’ve seen people use curves and tried it but stopped because I didn’t like the progress. If anyone has a simpler and more intuitive method, please let me know.

This is pretty good, but are the ears a bit too high on the head?

Making hair is a skill of its own and is never an easy task. It often looks wrong until you have completed it.

Yes slightly, even though some of it is caused by the perspective

Not bad, but it just looks like the sculpture doesn’t really have depth to the face when it comes to the sides of the head.
You also need to pull the mouth out more so it has curvature to it, the front of the face it really flat.
Try messing with the cheek bones and pull out the ears more so it’s not so flat.

Would you mind showing us a viewport image of the sculpt so we can see it raw?

Here you go. I’m now noticing that the right eye is wierdly shaded, I might have rotated in the wrong direction.

The cheeks from the front need to go in slightly, so there’s curvature to the face, right now the face has a harsh line disconnecting it from the rest of the head, which needs to be smoothed out unless you want it there.

Again really solid sculpt.
Same thing with the outside corners of the eye sockets, need to pushed back a bit.
There’s a website called Anatomy For Sculptors you’ll be able to benefit from, it has 3D views of the planes of the face

Thanks! Next thing I want to tackle is female faces,expression and stylisation.

Go for it, just know that when it comes to face expression, rigging is an easier approach for the final goal
