3D Artist needed — AI model cleanup & optimisation for three.js (single mesh, multi-material)

Hi all,

We’re looking for a Blender artist to clean up and optimise AI-generated 3D models for use in a real-time three.js application.

The work
We generate models using AI tools, and the raw output needs to be made production-ready. For each model we need it:

  • Consolidated into a single mesh
  • Set up with a multi-material slot arrangement, so we can swap individual materials at runtime in three.js with sane lowercase material naming.
  • Cleaned up generally — no floating/interior geometry, merged doubles, corrected normals, mainly correcting errors the AI has output.
  • Optimised for real-time (reasonable poly count, no unnecessary detail) the models poly count will already be in the ball park, but if there are quick simple upgrades get it done.
  • UVs unwrapped cleanly enough to support the material swapping.
  • Exported as GLB.

The material regions matter a lot here: they need to be split so that each swappable surface maps to its own material index/slot.

Scope
This will be a ongoing constant flow of numerous and varied models - the initial models will be furnature based.

The example sofa model would need the feet fixing and 2 materials. One for the fabric, the other for the feet. A general touch up of the geometry to smooth/fix any strange creases.

We’re looking for speed and accuracy, it doesn’t need to be perfect and I’m fully aware that building these models from scratch would give a more optimal output.

What we’d like from you

  • A rough time estimate per model. An average, some may be more complicated, whilst others will be more simple.
  • Your rate — hourly or per-model, whichever you prefer to quote
  • A portfolio or any relevant examples, especially game-ready / real-time or web (three.js/glTF) work if you have it

Happy to share a sample raw model so you can gauge the actual state of the geometry before quoting.

To apply: Send me a DM with your details/estimates.

Thanks!

Hi, I’m interested in the ongoing freelance work. I used the supplied sofa model as a personal workflow test before reaching out.

Because the original AI-generated topology was extremely irregular, I found it faster and cleaner to rebuild the sofa from scratch using the source as visual reference rather than trying to repair the existing mesh. The rebuild took roughly two hours and currently sits at about 61k triangles, compared with roughly 90k in the source file.

I can share shaded and wireframe previews, along with the model statistics. My account is currently too new to send private messages, so would you be able to message me if you’re interested? I’d also be interested to know whether this level of rebuilding matches your expected workflow, or whether you mainly want faster cleanup passes that preserve more of the original geometry.

Thank you all for getting in contact.

In case you missed it there is already a sample output attached above.

Please no more submissions as we have a lot and are reviewing internally - we will be in touch with more information to the successful candidates in due course.

Thanks
