For some reason the 3D Cursor is I guess somehow attached to my object when ever I scale. Pretty much it moves where ever the cursor is. I’m modeling a coffee cup and can’t seem to get the cursor in the right position when I try to scale. I also cannot get rid of the cursor or fix this problem. Thanks you for helping 
are you using enhanced 3d cursor addon?
Sounds like a hotkey conflict. Have you changed the hotkey for the 3d cursor?
Try to load factory settings. And have a look if problem still exists.
