At Earth 2050 (earth2050.com), we’re on a mission to tackle the climate crisis through captivating animations and visual content. As a charity dedicated to inspiring and educating the world, we focus on showcasing climate change solutions with the goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. Our content primarily reaches audiences through our YouTube channel, where we aim to engage viewers with innovative storytelling and stunning visuals.
Role
Join our small team of experienced artists as a 3D Generalist, where you’ll play a crucial role in bringing our vision to life. Our unique style revolves around creating small worlds and dioramas, presenting miniature sections of Earth in a playful and captivating manner. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to and shape our content with your artistic talent and technical skills.
Responsibilities
- Create visually compelling content on climate change solutions. Mainly animations but occasionally stills for our website, infographics or other imagery.
- Model, texture, light, and render scenes, maintaining a focus on colour, composition, and lighting aesthetics.
- Bring miniature Earth scenes to life with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring each visual element contributes to the overall narrative and impact.
- Perform generalist tasks as needed, including but not limited to modelling, texturing, animation, and compositing.
- Collaborate closely with the team including juniors, seniors and art directors
Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency in Blender
- Strong eye for colour, composition, and lighting, with a passion for creating beautiful imagery.
- Experience of compositing with Fusion would be helpful but not essential
- Ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment, taking initiative and contributing creative ideas.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
- Previous experience or interest in environmental or climate-related content is a plus, but not required.

Salary Range
The salary for this position is currently listed as £28,000 - £55,000 PA and will be finalised based on experience and qualifications.
Technical Requirements
- A stable internet connection with a minimum speed of 50 Mbps is necessary due to the substantial amount of data we will need to exchange.
- You must have your own computer to work on at the start of the project.
