## About Earth 2050

Earth 2050 is a UK-based charity focused on climate communication through animation and visual storytelling. Our work explores practical climate solutions and future technologies, with the aim of supporting a transition to net-zero emissions by 2050.

Our main platform is YouTube, where we produce short-form educational films designed to reach a broad, non-specialist audience.

(see:[https://www.youtube.com/@Earth2050com](https://www.youtube.com/@Earth2050com))

## The Role

We are looking for a Blender 3D Generalist to join our small, fully remote production team. You will work closely with other artists to create stylised miniature worlds and diorama-style environments that form the visual identity of Earth 2050.

The role is hands-on and generalist in nature. You will be expected to take scenes from early layout through to final render, working accurately to briefs while remaining self-sufficient, fast, and reliable. While much of the work involves executing clearly defined direction, this is also a strong environment for artists who think beyond individual shots and understand how scenes come together from concept through to final delivery.

## Responsibilities

- Create scenes that match the established look of the Earth 2050 videos, including modelling, lighting, shading, and compositing
- Animate scenes to clearly communicate narrative to a broad YouTube audience, including strong camera work and simple, well-timed motion where required
- Present work regularly to the team and make revisions based on feedback
- Manage and monitor renders on a remote Deadline render farm and deliver encoded video outputs
- Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with the remote team via Discord

* * *

## Skills and Experience

- Strong working knowledge of Blender
- Strong eye for lighting, composition, and overall visual quality
- Ability to create clear, satisfying camera animation and simple scene motion with good timing
- Comfortable working across multiple disciplines as a generalist
- Experience taking personal or professional projects from concept to finished output
- Ability to think holistically about scenes, pacing, and visual storytelling, not just individual assets
- Comfortable focusing on execution and direction initially, with the capacity to take on more creative responsibility over time
- Able to follow direction precisely while also working independently and proactively
- Reliable, organised, and able to deliver work consistently to deadline
- Experience with Blackmagic Fusion for compositing is beneficial but not required
- Interest in climate, environment, or educational content is a bonus, not a requirement

* * *

## Technical Requirements

- Reliable internet connection (minimum 50 Mbps recommended)
- Your own workstation capable of handling 3D production workloads

* * *

## Why Work With Us

- Work on meaningful, educational content with real-world impact
- Fully remote role with a UK-based team
- Collaborative environment with room for skill development and creative input

* * *

## How to Apply

Please send:

- A portfolio or reel showing relevant 3D work
- Your CV
- A short cover letter explaining your interest in the role

**Important:**
Due to the high volume of applications, please ensure all portfolio links are clearly presented, working correctly, and accessible without unnecessary friction. If passwords are required, they must be clearly provided. Well-organised applications with easy-to-view work are far more likely to be reviewed.

Email applications to: [jobs@earth2050.com](mailto:jobs@earth2050.com)
