3d illusion

amazing!

birras: A while back I made some posts on stereo pairs. Few were impressed so I stoped posting about it. Still working on it though and while I hate to post my wip -not really ready to show anyone yet… you did seem to express an interest %|

@paprmh
cool stuff, realy cool

just one thing: if you still have the .blend, animate the planets instead of having a left to right movement, aproaching from behind. The 3d impression will be enfasized and he eye iritation due to the left-right movement eliminated.

I think Im gonna try some animated stuff myself now. I only made a couple of stills with a lot of depth, but your vid inspired me. Thanks for sharing.

if you guys wanna see thing actually floating in front of your eyes:
same technique (slightly cross your eyes until you see a third 3D object)

I love these!

The 2 squares don’t make sense…I can clearly see that they are the same shade!!

I like optical illusions. I got one in the paper that did a similar thing. Check out this site:

Well that last one about ripped my heart out of my chest but im fine now.
The one about the A and B squares being the same shade of grey make no sense because I can plainly tell that they arent. Did anyone else notice this?

yeah, that last one scarred the dog shit out of me.

I wonder if looking at theses things (I mean the rotating circles). is actuallly bad for your eyes… somehow I think so … but I may be wrong… but it seems that the eyes go really unnatural on a person…

md01

Help my eyes they bleed!! arg! :o

Fudge

It’s not neccesarily bad for your eyes, the worst it could do is make you cross-eyed which is fixed easily and quickly.

spoken like a true kansas_15, M.Ed., NCC M.D. D.D.R

Haha, that’s great Nathan.

yes it’s the technology used in IMAX cinema…
but to avoid aving the screen 2x large, they shout it with different angle and they handle you these polarity glasses. so they can shout the tow image at the same place and you still see one image by eye.

:frowning: i dont knwow hy but i CANNOT go cross eyed no matter what its really annoying i look at my nose but then i cant see the screen so i look up and im nolonger cross eyed this really bugs me

Yeah yeah … sure … I guess then I could see the world through your perspective mode … :-?

Agh, look what you did to my nephew, the poor devil just wanted those breasts to come alive:

Seriously, I’m not getting the whole cross-eyed thing - I have the same problem as fudge, is there a technique? It hurts too much. But it’s great to know that if my eyes get stuck it’s easy to fix. That’s why you don’t see cross-eyed people anymore, right kansas?

I like the idea of 3d porn - it would seem a bit more life-like but I might go blind. Mind you, that’s no different from normal porn. Bah, I’ll just get a real woman.

its not that hard…but not everybody can do it…just like to whistle, not everybody can get a tone over the lips,

same with crossing your eyes, it should not be done very powerful, or even force it. no,no

just sit in front of the screen, comfortable distance (you might have to get closer , just try) it only works if you have the right position to get started, later you can move a bit.

just slightly cross your eyes (not like the kid, osxrules)

just enough to see 2 blurry images, go back and forth with your head if necessary or force your eyes crossing a little more, until the blurry- pictures, merge into one 3rd image in the centre, which will become eventually 3d. once you have the 3d image, I can relax my eyes. no harm done whatsoever, but I can see a 3d object floating in front of my eyes, even move my head slightly left/right and the object will kind of move as well.

Its a question of practice and to do it in a relaxed manner, dont force it

:expressionless: The worst thing that actually could happen, is that your eyes pop out of the skull and dangle a bit in front of your face until you stuff em back in, thats all

Oh, I think I was trying too hard before. I’ll try and do it more gently - does it work best at a particular distance?

:expressionless: The worst thing that actually could happen, is that your eyes pop out of the skull and dangle a bit in front of your face until you stuff em back in, thats all

And md01 thought it was dangerous %|. Can that really happen? I heard that happened to a woman once but not doing those cross-eye things. Just walking down the street. I’m surprised peoples’ eyes don’t pop out more often - what’s holding them in place?

hey i think i found a way to do this easier what u do is put ur head about 2cm away from the screen and stare right inbetween the 2 images, worked for me

Ok, try this:

sit about 2 feet from monitor - centered
put your finger between and just below the logos and about 9 inches from your eyes…look at your finger and you should see the 3d logo just above your finger…

Try this: put your hands 2" apart and and a little less than half way to the monitor
look at either palm and then at your monitor in the gap between your hands

Or: cup your hands around your eyes like you are holding binoculars. Slowly rotate both hands in front of your eyes until you only see the 3d image
