Does anyone know what the 3d mesh/texture files are in games, is there a universal name or does it vary. This is for making ISOs and what not.
It varies. Civ4, Oblivion, some others, that use Gamebryo have .nif. But it’s extremely varied.
The Doom3 engine can use .md5 and .lwo & I think .ase.
The quake 3 engine just uses .md3.
Quake 2 used .md2.
There isnt really a standard model format. It all depends on the engine you use.
