This is apparently a work in progress by some research group. They can seamlessly morph a face from one “kind” to another by altering numeric values. Examples were morphing the face between masculine and feminine, smile and frown, bony and fat.
They also demonstrated “computer matching”. They had a static image of Tom Hanks from “Forrest Gump.” The computer face was moved over it, angled to match the orientation, then auto-match was run. It morphed to fit Tom Hanks. But it was a 3D model, so now you can rotate it. Grabbed the texture from the static image as well.
I’m sure top graphic companies are bidding on this technology even as we speak.
