I’m not usually a dick about things like this but since you’re an “upcoming movie producer” I thought I point out that you’re grammer is terrible. If you were just another person on the forum like me I really wouldn’t care. However, you’re a movie producer whose job it is to have some kind of credibility. Honestly, I’m pretty sure you’re full of it.

I’ve been trying to work an animation for a 30 second commercial for forever, and it still stinks. But then again, animating characters is just so freaking hard. Of course I lost all my work after that bitch Wilma tore through my house last year, so I had to start over.

lp_developer, take a step back and look at the original post and at your posts. Your efforts at being friendly are noble, but your naivety is making it all look rather poor. Honestly, you can’t really be that gullible, can you?
Uzor:
No disrespect or anything. You are probably new to moviemaking, right?
If you seriously want to hire an Animator for your projects, consider this
first:
- Have a homepage that clearly describe your project.
- Have some (even if you can´t draw) drawings or photos that indicate
where you want your project to go. - Have an real-life address to prove that you are for real
- Go by your full registered name.
- Check EVERYTHING you write with a standard spell-checker (makes you
look a lot more serious).
This is all completely FRIENDLY advice to help you get started.
When you´re past all of that - I have some further advice for you:
- State where you want the Animators to work, could they work from home
or do they have to travel to your location…if the last…then prepare to
finance this yourself, and further prepare to help out with accommodations,
working visas/permits and proof of reliability & credibility etc. - State how much you´re willing to pay, and how long you expect your
project to last. - State your expectations of the project, and come up with as much
documentation as you can. Don´t worry! No-one can legally “steal” your
project anyway.
At last - some notes about Nigeria and it´s current popularity with the
rest of the world:
As you might be aware of, western countries and more have been
flooded with so called Nigerian-Scam-letters. These are letters such
as indicated by other members of this forum and usually attracts the
“victim” to send/invest money of some sort - in order to GET money
later on (usually scams and false promises). This is pretty common
for us, and therefor Nigeria is not in a very good standing with the rest
of the world because of these criminals who engage in such activities.
So excuse the members bluntness and harshness towards you, but also
understand WHY they react the way they do - now you know. Therefor
you now have the ability to prepare better for your next attempt if
you´re sincere.
To the others
Please be aware of the fact that many naive people have been killed
in Nigeria by criminals offering them gold and honey if they meet for
business over there. Let me enlighten things for you so you´re prepared
for what could happen if you´re not careful. Nigeria isn’t a place for
a young Animator all alone without any family or anything. So watch
out!
