Overlapping triangles are mostly a design issue.
The design tool should prevent to create them or clean them up.
Our fixing robot will be trying to remove those overlapping triangle automatically but that is not always possible.
With the software ‘Magics’ from our company, you are able to remove them manually , but the software is not free.
Best is to prevent them during the design by preventing overlapping faces. In most cases overlapping triangles don’t result in problems for printing but our wallthickness algo might be giving incorrect result because of them.
Easiest way to repair is to find them and remove them. 1st step is to actually inspect your model
did that … with the 3d print addon… it selects the intersect faces
but it s not always clear…when i remove a highlighted face, i get mostly a hole
is blender a so called design tool? and can it clean it up?
I use that too, after using the mesh lint addon first… …
appearantly nettfab doesn t repair that…
