Hey Guys,

I spent a couple weeks modeling, animating, texturing, and rendering out this little test. It’s nowhere near perfect, but I don’t think it’s too bad for one of my first animations. let me know what you think:

Thanks and I totally agree. The dad needed to be smoothed out a bit, too jagged.

btw (If I remember correctly) South Park is 3D anyway - it is animated (or parts of it) in Softimage :wink:

It is about getting an audience! You have done it! with some help from South Park.
but we can use our own characters - :yes::no: - to tell our own stories.
but have to do it? You have found the way!!! give us some hints - a tutorial.
Help us - telling a one minute story!

Just a question - the eyebrows - how are they done?

Lipsync is tedious. :spin:

Perhaps you or someone else can make a script using FlashAmp?

FlashAmp is a stand-alone application that produces arrays of audio data specifically for use with Macromedia Flash. With some simple Actionscript you can use FlashAmp data to synchronize animations (or anything else) with sound.

South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have pursued an full scale approach to make the lookers curl up expressing joy. One of the most contentious South Park episodes was ‘The China Probrem’. In this particular episode, the replicated violation of Harrison Ford by a few noted adult males was shown. This episode was criticised for its extremely pornographic idea and subject. South Park episodes have got a distinctive prayer and it is principally because of their 'restriction-less funniness.

Yeah I used their audio track, I figured I couldn’t possibly come up with funnier voices and more comedic timing. :slight_smile:

Yeah, lip syncing probably took the longest next to rendering. The eyebrows were thin, cylindrical, black-textured meshes rigged to the forehead of the characters.

Matching frame rate is key, I exported the lip sync animation as a .png sequence at 24fps. To make it animate during render, play around with the image sequence settings when you add an “image” texture. That should get you started. :slight_smile:
