If you’re so inclined, head on over to http://contest.3dluvr.com. The latest contest is open for voting. There is at least one (cough mine cough) Blender entry this month. There may be more. Now, I’m not saying that you should stack the votes. In fact, stacking might not make any difference, as the winning entry usually gets over three hundred votes. But if you want to go there, there’s two ways you can do it…
The first is to go over, look at all of the images (or at least the one’s whose thumbnails look promising), and cast your votes. If you do this, you won’t be sorry. There is some great 3D art over there. Inspiring. While you’re at it, check out the contest archives for some more excellent artwork, and some interesting articles from the winners.
The second is to go to my website and take a look at my Jabberwock image. Due to contest rules, I’m not allowed to tell you which entry is mine, but I will say that it shares certain aspects with the Jabberwock final image, including the identifiable RipSting grass and Lsystem tree. I’ll also mention that I’m from semi-rural Pennsylvania and really like barns.
So, you can head over and vote your conscience, or you can head over and try to make a guess and vote for the glory of Blender. Or, maybe the two will coincide. But, having seen the level of entries this time, I can’t say that I’m as enthusiastic as I was a couple of weeks ago. There’s a lot of great work. Apparently the topic was inspirational for more people than just myself. Oh well. Crossing fingers and all that.
Whatever you decide to do, though, at least check out the artwork.
