3Ds Max tesselation-like in Blender

Hi! First post here.

Im wondering if it is any way to modell the way you do in 3Ds Max, where you can select the object, click tesselate to get more polygons and do the modelling from there? I have tried to look all over the UI, even searched for a addon, but I didnt find something.

Options available in blender
Ctrl+F / quads to tris
Alt+P to poke faces
W / Subdivide
Subsurf modifier (either Catmull-Clarke or simple), then Apply it
Multiresolution modifier (either Catmull-Clarke or simple).
Triangulate modifier, then Apply it
Sculpt mode with Dyntopo enabled

Some work on selected geometry or for the modifiers, on the object

So its called subdeviding in Blender. Now everything will be easier. Thanks!
