3rd ever model, 1st ever post

Okay, since stinky geocities doesn’t allow direct linking ( :x ), please open a new internet window and cut and paste this link into the adress box :

That should work.

I made the Enterprise model myself, but the planet texture is a hi-res of Mars found somewhere in the depths of the internet. I made the atmosphere very quickly with halos - is there a better method I could use ?

Nice work! It’s a little bright and shiny for the Enterprise, but a very good model.

Just so you know, Geocities does not allow direct linking and you can not do the thing with them either. Just put up the link and tell everyone to cut and paste.

Thanks for the nice comment !

Are there any free websites that DO allow direct linking ? Seems very silly not to allow it…ah, well. I’ll go and edit the first post, thanks for telling me about that.

BgDM, you were right - it was too shiny. I edited the basic matierial to make it more matt, and I think it’s much better now - more like a photograph. The link in the first post has been updated.

Very nice work!
Where is the wormhole?
I’d do the atmosphere with halos, too.

Thanks, tordat !
Don’t you worry about the wormhole… I have big plans for that… (manic chuckle)

Ahhh. That`s much better. I like it even more now. Maybe tune down the halos in the front of the nacells a bit? Seems a little overpowering. I should have mentioned that in my firrst post. But if you like it, then leave it.

Right again, BgDM ! I made the halos nice and diffuse. Not as big an improvement as making the hull matt, but definately better than before. The link at the top has been updated.

Pretty nice picture for a beginner.

BTW, On that “wormhole” picture on yor site, to make the darker area’s less/more transparent, click the Alpha button neck the Col, Nor, etc. buttons at the top right of material settings. Now make sure the Alpha’s lowered. Does that solve the problem?

It did indeed Valarking. I had a few spare minutes and threw this together :
Not enough time to sort out the details I’m afraid.
I’ll resume work on everything in about 2 weeks but if anyone else has any advice/suggestions whatsoever, please post it !

It looks good! I think there are way to many stars in the backround though, and the ship looks a bit, too smooth. Otherwise it looks great!
