4.x.x Not Starting in Ubuntu 22.04.4-24.04.1 (SOLVED-old GPU)

4.1.0, 4.1.1, 4.2.0, and 4.2.1 all were working in Ubuntu 22.04.4 until several weeks ago. My guess had been some update conflict. Because the upgrade was so near waiting seemed reasonable to see if that fixed the problem. However the upgrade did not fix the problem and 4.x.x do not load still. 3.2.2 and 3.6.15 are working on my computer, however 4.x.x had all worked, then stopped.

Could someone suggest where to look for possible conflicts?

A small update, 4.x.x will open for a fraction of a second then close, as well as appear in the system monitor for that time, and the blue dot also flashes on the dock.

3.2 3.6 still work as usual.

And finally found the crash report:

Hello. May I guess you have an old intel HD4000 graphics card or even older ?
Take a look at blender’s compatibility page:
https://developer.blender.org/docs/release_notes/compatibility/
I am facing the same problem, probably will try downgrading to version 3.6.
good luck !

It’s not that, though the link you provided shows the NVidia minimum driver version increased. Thanks for the info.
