I’ve got a problem. Although it seems that similar things were already done for game engines, I haven’t found what I need.
I need to make a 4min countdown movie showing minutes, seconds and hundredths of seconds. I have to be able to change its font, color, position and so on and to make animated spotlights show parts of the text during the movie (so that other parts are invisible because it’s black). And I need to be able to add a logo that is always visible.
there was a script written (search forum) that overlaid some information on the render output, like frame number, file number, date and time, just like is done in the real movies in production. Modifying that script should do your trick to produce the frame sequence. Then use compositing node to show it as you said by mixing it with the original footage.
Regarding the logo, use an alphaover or mix node to watermark the video with the logo. I did this for a commercial I was producing and was not sure I was gonna get paid, so I watermarked it with “Evaluation Use Only” very noticeably so they could not hijack it.
