7yr old's first model

My 7yr old nephew is visiting and after watching me use Blender, he said he wanted to make something.

I added a sphere, subsurfed, in edit mode I showed him only 4 things before starting:
1 - rotate the view
2 - zoom the view
3 - select a face
4 - move the selection

He is a smart and creative kid, I told him I knew he could make something without my help, I left him alone in the computer room, 20 minutes later he came looking for me to show me what he had created.

He said he wanted it green, so I did show him how to make it green, here is his first model, he calls it his ‘flying monster alien head’.

I have to say he made me proud, I really was not expecting this, keep in mind the only tecniques he used, select single face and move it. Better than many things I have made  I think I have a modeler on my hands.

Is he giving lessons yet?

Definate potential there.

Yep, 3D artist in the making, for only selecting faces thats way better then I can do for a head…pretty awsome

Looks good, way better than my first models.

looks like you have a blenderer on your hands, somebody call the museum of modern art.

Awesome!

It reminds me a bit of the spitting dino from Jurrasic Park

Thanks guys, your words are encouragement to him, I myself was amazed.
I just got home from work and the first thing he asked is if he could do some more modeling.

7 years old is clearly the youngest age i’ve heard of anyone doing Blender

Who wants to see a 6 year old’s work?
How about 5 years old?
4 anyone?

Clearly he’s an artist in training.

Dude that is amazing, I can see the resembelance between Saxofoner’s mom and this out-of-Earth alien creature already!

Tell your nephew that it’s great and that if he wants some candy to come meet me in my van.

Wow, impressive.

Now I can just see this going to your head, soon, he will be your slave and crank out Oranges 2 & 3 just so you will give him some water and let him sleep inside the house without any chains…

LMAO, too funny!

ha i actually could see what it was before i read it

you didn’t tell him how to do enough! perhaps you are afraid he’ll get better than you?

does he have blender for himself now?

i love child prodigies. they’re prodiginous!

 He loves creating things, only I did notice that at his age, he uses his imagination a lot more than we do in that he is not as concerned about detail, as long as it looks like a spaceship to him he is alright,

well, its time to get him and account here, and get him posting!

nice work hazards 7yr old nephew!
