Hi there, I’d like to present my first car, and my first real model beyond doodling in Blender. A lot of credit goes to Jonathan Williamson for a fantastic tutorial on the Porsche. I followed for a while, and while using my own sourced blueprints and references I digressed to do what I could on my own to a fair extent so hopefully my work isn’t a carbon copy of anything. I bitmap-traced decals into vectors where necessary and modded them to reflect the real ones where need be before exporting back into png’s with alpha. I have over 60 references I sourced to try and get a better view of different details.
It’s something of a personal achievement which I intended to look pleasing to the eye. I’m not uploading directly because the resolution requirements here are far too low - details like the radiator get turned into speckles which isn’t so nice.
Without further ado I present the awesome Porsche 911 GT3 RS:
the color looks fine, and the whole car looks nice I’d just change the taillights around a bit, it seems a bit fakeish.
edit: sorry, probably should’ve said that in your WIP
Thanks for the comments. The colour is really subjective, since I’m using brightish lighting the colour does lighten right up to a yellowy orange like reference pics show. I tried darkening it but it tries to go to more of a strawberry/orange which just isn’t right.
The tail lights don’t match the originals exactly but they are representative I think. Here are a couple more views of the back of the car, the first with the brake lights off, the second with brake & reverse lights on in the dark:
