A 4 year old and Blender!

Here’s the situation.

Out of the blue my lil brother was like, “I wanna do Blender brother.” (add cute four year old voice) And I was like ok and he said he wanted a Dinosaur. So i wipped up a quick lil dinosaur mesh and added a green textrue then I left the room. He came and got me a few min later and told me that he wanted to make the tail one color than the legs another. So i showed him about that whole thing and then I left again. He came and got me and told me he made the legs and tail invisible so I came in and I was astonished.

He changed the background made things shiny and even made the alpha on the textures higher (I added raymir transp for him)

Here it is anyway.

…Four year old already has more talent than I do…

kids are amazing

Just goes to show that the interface isn’t really that hard. That’s a greate age to start 3D too, can he even read? :o

btw, I remember when I was quite young and my brothers (5 and 7 years older than me) were playing a fighting game on the old Amiga. I asked them if I could try and they said, “no, you wouldn’t know what to do” etc. I eventually bugged them into letting me play and I pwned them.

He cant read nor write but he can type his name onto the computer. GO GEEK FAMILIES.

The lil kid is better at materials and textures than I am.
Now I’m scared to try modeling a dinasour. OMG…4years old…I’m scared to open blender now…lol(Im only partially laughing…crying for me and smiling for the 4 year old). I hope he stays interested in Blender when he becomes a renowned 3dcg artist.

I’m very depressed now.

Can you have him post a tutorial?

man, u suck at modelling, but your brother is a genius…

Whys this in off topic?
:-?

Agreed. Moved to Finished Work.

Now, I should get my 3-1/2 year old son to model my F1 for this year.

That is really cool stuff.

BgDM

4 years old :o :o :o
Man he could become one of the greatest blender artists in blender history.

yay, add one to the 5-9 category of my poll

That would be the non existant 0-4 catagory of your poll. Sure we’ll welcome the little 4 year old to this forum if he can act grown up.

I don’t anticipate the four year old making many of the remarks… maybe through a proxy of his older brother?

Of what remarks do you speak of?

I give your bro my props  he did good!!!

Heh, I remember when I was able to operate the computer better then some of the 11 year olds when I was about 5. It is because the kids growing up now use the computer from almost as soon as they are born, and they learn at very fast speeds then, so it shouldn’t come as a shock they they would be able to do something like that

A whole generation of computer geniuses :stuck_out_tongue:

Mystery

Oh, I just meant whatever the four year old had to say on the forum would be said through the brother :]

It’s a new level of sad when somebody 10 years younger than me can make better materials and textures than me.

Hehe. Better check out your computer, maybe he has also another talents;).

I know something about younger brothers and sisters.
