Used real compass for reference which makes it a whole lot easier than working from reference photos.
Used 2.8 Alpha. Topaz Studio for post work (textures filters colors and such). The first image EEVEE.
The markings around the edge were done using the spin tool on a simple plane, and the direction markings are text converted to mesh. Saves texturing it all.
