Ace, for as long as I have known you, you’ve been posting the most egregious clickbait threads every chance you get. I have talked to you about them probably half a dozen times. Often you will edit the title to be slightly less clickbait, but you always return to that behavior with your next post.
I have often been offended by these threads, Not because of your opinion, but because of the greasy way you deliver it. It feels like you are trying to deceive people by carefully framing the narrative you want them to walk away with. Is that ethical? Does that sit well with your morals?
Sharing an interesting article is one thing, Embedding your opinion so deeply into how you share it is something else. There is a certain ‘fair and balanced’ news network out there that champions this kind of ‘journalism’. It comes across as the opinion being more important than the information. And when you have an audience that is self selected for a particular political ideology, the opinion of the audience is pretty homogeneous, and thus easy to farm clicks out of.
Blending opinion and fact is a way to obscure the facts. If the facts don’t support your opinions, framing them so that they do is an act of deception. That deception is much more upsetting to me than someone whos complex set of political feelings don’t exactly line up with mine.

When we get older we learn that we will never be like by everybody it’s simply impossible by simple human nature.
Even me here since i critic a few thing on blender 2.8 when it launch officially many are avoiding me like the pest but after 17 years in the industry i don’t get butt hurt that easily anymore!

I would really love a popular alternative where the people in charge have the minimal moral fiber that is needed to not to feature gay pornography in the header of the site, among other things.

I don’t appreciate the filth he has put in the header, so I’m not going to shut up because he has some kind of untouchable character. I guess anyone who says anything agains the behaviour of anyone in your list of “protected characters” is “looking to stir up trouble”. This is precisely the sad attitude that plagues this place: anything that breaks the illusion is automatically labelled as a trouble maker, or a troll, or whatever, for not putting up with literally everything those in charge do.
Tsk, I’m not into erotic gay artwork either but we also get chicks from time to time. Fair is fair.

Took me a bit, but I think I finally found this artwork you guys are talking about. (Always on mobile, so I don’t see the artwork at the top) Really well done stuff, got a like from me. Thanks for pointing it out.
And the content doesn’t phase me in the slightest. The artistic talent is all I care about. Also don’t really care about people’s differing opinions on the subject. Folks can have it all they want, but can also express it in a respectful and tactful fashion without using sensational words you know will get folks wound up.

Politics, especially identity politics does not belong into any form of entertainment. It rots to death anything it touches. So the best course of action IMHO is to leave it out completely. No one cares anyway, especially on sites like BA.
I don’t think even people who call themselves hardcore conservatives would have much against non-adult, slightly suggestive depiction of homosexuality, and even if you do, as a conservative you can just use that as an opportunity to reality check your beliefs in freedom of speech and expression, as long as they don’t cross the line of law. That’s the stance I do believe most conservatives have.
But overall, let’s just avoid dividing people in all these arbitrary groups based on politics and so on, and then judging them based on that. Especially on sites like BA. Identity politics really does not belong into any form of entertainment, be it movies, games, CG art or traditional art.

Yeah it’s cool stuff. Just because it’s not your thing doesn’t mean it shouldn’t get showcased featured or whatnot. There’s CG hooters all over the internets and no one says a thing anyhoo.

Very true. And women may not appreciate that, so you can’t always win with everyone. What you can do, is at least appreciate the skill involved.

By the way, see how much easier it is for two people with differing opinions on a subject to come to an understanding and find common ground when you don’t attack each other’s morality?

I find that your highly suggestive way of framing me and my policy here without any evidence is highly insulting. If you feel this strongly about my role in Blender Artists, then please leave. Now.

After reading this thread, I’ve decided to leave it closed. @Ace_Dragon, I’m a little disappointed that you’ve made this thread. BA has been around for a long time and has always prioritized art over politics. You’ve been here nearly as long as I have, so I know that you know this.
The site has changed hands three separate times over the course of 20+ years and we’ve remained pretty much the same place the whole time. The site had a dark period for a while where the behavior in the General Forums was particularly toxic, but even with that, things have remained apolitical.
To suggest that there’s a possibility that could change is ignoring history… furthermore, it’s disappointing that you think so low of those of us who’ve been moderating this whole time to think that we wouldn’t be consistent with that history.
