The ability to lock posts yourself. Of course, this would have to be limited (i.e. locking the topic as soon as it’s posted), but it’d get me off the moderators’ backs about locking up topics I’ve started that have turned into flamewars. Of course, a moderator could lock it down for good or unlock it, and it’d have to be restricted to your own posts (duh).

An easier way to do polls. Add the question, optionally the amount of time, then you have to insert one by one the choices… AAAHHH! Can’t you just make a list where every “enter” means a new choice should start? Not really necessary, but it’d be helpful, I think.

A new forum made for flame-wars. Whenever it seems that someone’s getting flamed, it’s moved into there. This would be truly helpful, as I’ve started some heinous flame-wars and can’t resist making comments on them, only to have my point undermined somehow.

An automatic CubeFan973 useless-junk-meter! (From spending too much time around flames on me, I’ve grown a habit of insulting myself… ever seen that scene of “hit me somewhere” from “Fight Club?” Neither have I, but I guess i just have to make myself normal somehow!)

More emoticons or smileys or whatever they’re called. Of course, not too offensive (at BlenderGames.com, one can flip another off with an animated emoticon), but we have overused our current ones, and need new ones to shock people

How about a “print hardcopy” hyperlink that would give you a new window with just text and graphic that the posters have linked in. I have seen this in other online forums.
Guys, there’s a reason that the post is “Features I’d Like To See On Elysiun” and not “THINGS THAT KIB MUST INSTALL ON ELYSIUN RIGHT NOW!” Not all of them are really big deals. Emoticons, though–we do need more that we don’t do ourselves. For the lazy/websiteless.

you know, there’s a strange thing called will power. If you don’t want to participate in a flamewar or don’t want to read one, then DON’T.

That depends on who moves the topic, since there’s an option to leave a notice in the forum where it was originaly.

Folks, I wouldn’t expect any big changes to the forums… the code isn’t Kib’s, it’s a PhPBB, and as I understand, Kib doesn’t want to change much, because that would make it difficult to upgrade to newer versions put out by PhPBB.
