A cube object with more polygons

Hi all folks.

How can I have more polygons at each side? I mean exactly not just 8 polygons, but four edges at each side.

Select cube, in edit mode select all faces and W / subdivide. Set number of subdivisions in toolshelf or by pressing F6

How to move two points far from together?

Select loop at a time, [Shift] select, and translate it along one of the axis to where you want. Or select two loops and scale it apart.
