Contrarily, the head is way too flat. The backside of the head is way bigger than what you got it at, atm. That has to be improven, sorry to sound harsh and all though.
The face itself is looking quite alright though. Keep up the good work!
The face is looking good, but as others have said the shape of the skull needs work. If the reference image is of the whole head instead of just the face, use it to get the head shape. If not take a side shot of somebody else’s head and use it as a rough guide to get the proper shape for the back of the head.
Also the eyeballs need to be further apart. Look at your source image- the center of the pupil should be in the center of the eye holes.
The neck looks wrong… Look up some ref images, because you really need to sculpt that into a better form. Right now, it looks like you just extruded all the verts from the bottom of the head…
are you even reading the crits people are giving you? the shape of the skull is completely wrong.
here is what i suggest you do. get a diagram of a skull, render out a side view of you head model and overlay them in a 2D app. you’ll see that the head shape is completely wrong.
you need to study the skeletal structure. once you understand that you’ll have a knowledge base to build from that will help you model a head properly.
Your work is not that bad but like it’s been said before, you need more references with at least a front and a side view of the same head.
Have a look at the following links :
the neck is too thick, skull needs better shape, the pole above the eye will give you trouble if you animate the head (eye blink), if you set a UV map (it may cause a distortion
