A fun personal challenge!

So I was at college during a break between classes. I had about an hour, to an hour and a half. And so I thought to myself; I wonder what sort of game I could make within this hour?

It ended up being incredibly fun! And I actually got a semi-playable game out of it. It was my first attempt at a tower defense game. I think it made the experience better because it was my first time making this type of game.

So the challenge:
Make a playable game within an hour.

Extra enjoyment points:
Make a game from genre that you’ve never tried before

I will be interested in seeing what people can do

My little .blend, The code is messy because I just wrote it to work
This is also designed to be modular as possible, so more waves, and enemies can be added easily. And a possibility of modding support. Not really enough for a screenshot, so it’s just the .blend
TowerDefence1.blend (819 KB)

Controls:
Right Click to select a block
Left click on the gun icon to build a gun.

I just tried your .blend, and it all looks very impressive. But your lack of instructions is disturbing and you deserve to burned at the stake.

HOW DO I PLAY THIS GAME OMG IT’S DESTROYING ME I WANT TO KNOW

HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG

Edit 7:29pm : So it’s right click to select a block… wow.

Edit 7:31 pm : Oh my goodness, wave 3 is just a bit tough don’t you think? This is all very impressive for a 1 hour project, although I do see that you used the presentation with the placement of the selectable blocks. Very well done.

Games Stall when passion runs low, so a 1 day or 1 hour game, can be fun… but true programming is when you don’t ever want to look at another line of code and you write 1,000 lines because you love your project…

Think of it as a one night stand vs a wife…

Sure one is fun for a while, but for it to be real it takes begrudging loyalty.

Haha I guess I forgot that. :o
