Hello! Want to know if my image is photorrealistic and what you think about It. Also you can ask what you want about It.
Right now, it doesn’t seem very realistic. I have a few issues and questions looking at this.
-
Is the size of the room based on realistic numbers? What is the height of the ceiling?
-
Are the objects in the room adjusted to a realistic size that those objects could be in real life?
-
Is the camera placed at a plausible human height?
-
That is some really wide angle camera you have there. It’s making the objects look deformed and stretched.
-
There is a big window letting in daylight, yet there is a much brighter white light coming from behind the camera? What could possibly be making that much light that it’s stronger than daylight? And it’s a small light source too, I can see it in the fan’s reflection. That does not seem plausible to me.

Looking at the outdoors, the sky looks very white, which means this is in the middle of the day. However, if that is the case, the outdoors should be much brighter and more overexposed than this, and the light coming from the window should be brighter and more dominant in the room.
Right now, this seems like a fake imitation of a room that’s not lived in. It’s too empty and some important elements are missing.
- The room has no lamp? Not even one that’s turned off?
- What about power outlets?
- This is a kitchen, but there are no dishes, bowls, cauldrons, bottles, utensils anywhere?
- No smaller appliances? No toaster, mixer, coffee machine, microwave oven or electric kettle?
- No decorative element anywhere? What about a potted plant, a fruit bowl or a clock on a wall?
I did a new render. I want this render to be informative about the architectural space so I dont want to add objects for that reason. I made the changes, thank you! what do you think now?
I like your new camera, it already makes the image seem more like a plausible photo and objects no longer look deformed. Though I might keep the view a tiny bit wider than that, so the space is well visible.
I see you have put the light from behind at an angle. That’s a good idea, it now looks like a sunset coming in from a window. Putting a light directly behind the camera can give the look of cheap flash photography and flattens the shapes of objects (especially if that light is white).
The colors look more pleasing to me in the new version. More like natural light.
I see you added some power outlets and an extra border on the wall. Those do add realism to me. Are the curtains more white? This doesn’t change the realism, but I think it looks nicer.
Good job overall!
The original render definitely had a “fish-eye” feel to it – the second one, in that respect, is better.
At this point, I’d start to think about the lighting. And, specifically, the color of that lighting. For instance, maybe there are fluorescent tubes underneath that cabinet on the left side, for use by people who are sitting on those stools to eat their lunch. And maybe, there is an incandescent or LED light on top of that stove. A couple of lights (out of view) in the ceiling over the sink? Things like that …
In this scene, none of them might be so-called “practical lights.” That is to say, you do not actually see them. But you see the light that they cast. And they add warmth and character to the light.
