Just a test, I know the textures are a bit messed up. Any suggestions are welcome!
The shape looks good, but the realistic textures on those cartoony tree shapes just doesn’t gel well in my eyes. You might want to consider using simpler textures that align more closely in style to the source.

Thanks for the input! I tried to find as “cartoony” textures as possible, but you might be right. I might try to just paint the textures instead
It probably wouldn’t hurt to look at some screenshots of the Link’s Awakening remake on the Switch. Take some inspiration there.
That was my inspiriation actually, some great design there
