A man carved out of stone

A man carved out of stone :moyai:

Inspired by Adam Ford concept artwork.

A little peek into the process:

  1. Modeled about 80% in MagicaCSG.
  2. Finished in Blender.
  3. Rendered using Cycles.
  4. Final rendering (separate top image) post-processed using PhotoScape X and Affinity Photo.

Thanks! I wanted it to look like a nice new statue. :slightly_smiling_face: Edge wear can be a little hackneyed sometimes.

I love it! It has a real ‘Easter Island Statue’ vibe.

Thanks! Yeah, I’m still waiting for my royalties from those Easter Island statues.

What was it like back in the 1400s? I bet you had some technical limitations when designing the statues. Blender and MagicaCSG weren’t as developed back then, and were likely missing important features.

Amazing artwork by the way, thanks for sharing!

Thanks, appreciated! :+1:

Yes, those were hard times. To render you had to light a fire inside a fairy ring and do a ritual dance around it. Then it would take ten years to finish one animation frame.

Saw it on your website, really cool stylized sculpt.

Also pretty cool: Emojis seem to stay visible in feature row titles, even when not hovering. I thought the eye looked a little weird in the featured row, turns out that was the easter island emoji :stuck_out_tongue:

Thank you, I appreciate it. :+1:

Haha, yeah, adding an emoji to my image titles has become somewhat of a habit, and when I’m lucky enough to be in the top row again, I always have to giggle when I see the emoji-in-thumbnail bug again.

I removed the emoji from the title as our featured row was doing it’s weird thing again :joy:

Feel free to put it back once it’s no longer at the top.

Haha, I’ll stop adding those emojis to my titles, just in case I make it to the top row again.
