A new head

My last attempt looked crap quite frankly, and I got annoyed and decided to learn how to draw semi decent looking people instead.

Well heres my 2nd attempt.

I finally managed to get the a better face tutorials edgeloops method to work. I have used a custom reference person from a site linked from fineart.sk.

He [the reference] is quite squareheaded

It looks alot better than the last one, but what do you guys think.

When you have the wireframe over the reference pics it matches quite well.

Thank you for any help provided, I wont be as much of an arse this time around.

(Well disregarding the help and then giving up is being an arse is it not?)

the nostrils drop too low

very good start, The neck ist to thick, try to streach it longer down… can we see some wire?

Not necisarily. It depends on the ethnicity. The wings of asians’ nostrils are often lower than their septums
But in general: yes, the nostrils are a bit low

Yes, It’s looking pretty good, but do show us the wire. It all depends on the edge loops and the flow of the mesh

the nostrils drop too low

But in general: yes, the nostrils are a bit low

What do you mean? do you mean the outside bits are too low or the inside bit. I dunno what the septums and wings of a nose are

I think I see what you mean on the reference pic though so I shall have a whack at it

The neck ist to thick, try to streach it longer down…

My reference was a thicknecked guy  What do you mean by stretch it down?

Funny, I thought I had posted some meshes

The neck is edited slightly to better fit with the reference, the un subbed shape fitted well but not the subbed shape.

The edge loops should be okay as they are the method in the tutorial. The tutorial didnt describe how to complete the head though so the side of the head is an issue im wondering if I did right…

I need to replace the eye spheres with some lower poly ones though  32 segments didnt seem like much at the time see…

I meant like this

Hope you understand

I think I understand, but maybe not I am a dumb-ass

Anyways, I have updated the pics in the 1st post with the help provided by you guys.

What do you think?

Bear in mind the ears and neck are just prelims. (I will add detail to ears, not neck though as the tutorial I am going to do to find out how to do bodies has the neck included.)

I havent changed the face mesh that much so updated wires arent that priority I dont think…

If you want them though then post.

I have noticed that I havent yet modeled the dip in the middle of the face (where the centre of the nose comes down)

nice job, big improvement over the last one, good job on the topology. The only real problems i noticed have been mentioned so…keep it up man!
Drew

Thanks.

Did you finish the gravity animation?

Nah, dropped it after a few more 8 second sections…wait…what was the last part you saw?

heres the link if ur interested…

WELL THAT WAS F*CKING ANNOYING!!!

I had modeled an ear and it actually looked semi decent (a bit too angular…)

And then the fcking computer crashed for no fcking reason!!!..

Well now I have that off my chest.

Anyone know any ear tutorials,

And

Does anyone know the name of an admin as I would like to ask why I cant see any forums.

oh…that sux

Its not that bad now that I am less annoyed, I looked for an ear tutorial and am downloading it as we erm, e communicate, so the new ear should be better and more tone aware than ever

If a peacock lays an egg on the top of a hill anf the wind is blowing to the west but the sun is shining from the east, Will;

A) The egg roll to the west

B) The egg roll to the east

C) You post a video of your freak of nature peacock laying an egg on youtube

D) Your peacock actually turn out to be a peahen

I have followed an ear tutorial

It looks okay, my attempt actually looked farly similar, and im happy about that, but this is better

However it connects strangely with my head and leaves some creases and I was wondering if anyone could think of a way to fix the creases, I have aleviated them somewhat form what they were like originally but they are still quite present.

I may also have pushed the bit under the nose in too much…

not bad, but the ear is way to flat. fatten it up a bit

Oh I should have said I knew about that

Thats a result of me trying to get the proper curve of the back of the ear, I think I know how to fix it though…

Heres a result of me trying to make some hair for it
