This was meant to be a whole four- or five-minute animation, with the Billy Corgan-ish main character rocking out, dancing, and even singing (I spent 45 minutes laying out markers for all the mouth shapes and syllables in the first verse.)
Most of the animation was supposed to be set in the hallway, with just the one guy; later on, during one of the more quiet parts of the song, a cut was going to show the main character in his appartment, wearing a VR headset and pretending to play the guitar. His friends (Baymax and another character, potentially Lady Domitrescu from Resident Evil: Village) look on, concerned.
Oh, well. I learned a few things from this, so it wasn’t a total waste of time.
The idea you described sounds cool. I can imagine the guy with the VR glasses nailed to his head and then wearing a bathrobe and house slippers surrounded by pizza boxes and empty beers. It would be amazing to see the lip-sync park even if it is not finished!
