I saw a tutorial at www.3Dtoal.com , and said,“Hey, that’s an awsome scene! I want to make it!” So I did. Not exactly the same, and I didn’t follow the tutorial, so that’s a plus to me. I did some post-processing with Gimp, some of the grass was missing, and the sky was showing through, and I did some color tweaking. I rendered it with Blender Internal, but it was originally meant for YafRay.
The scene is good but somethings could be improved:
the wood wheel could be more rounded;
the windows glasses are too reflective;
try to texture the chair (they are too grey, IMO).
I think its a great scene, I really enjoy the detail on the benches in particular. Keep up the good work!
Critiques:
-The window on the wall does not match the windows on the side of the house.
-Add a few more flowers if you want, i think it would make the scene a bit happier.
-There’s too much gray in the scene, you really should texture those benches, and do something with the wall of the house.
Other than that, its great! must’ve taken a while to model everything. Keep on working on it! Good Luck to you!
I also gave a 3 so I think I need to justify that score, but let me start by saying that you’ve got yourself a very nice picture. I’m just trying to help you get this to premium quality, worthy of 5 cgtalk stars.
A: Very flat steps. Needs some displacement and/or normal mapping.
B: Reflection is way too bright for the scene. But I wouldn’t solve it by bringing the brightness of the reflection down. In my opinion it would be better to make the rest of the scene brighter.
C: Too clean and even. Roughen it a bit.
D: Too clean and uniform again. When I think of Portuguese houses I expect more weathered down stones. Stones that have seen years of erosion, dirt, etc.
E: Too sharp edge. Slight bevel would improve it. Some other sharp edges could also benefit from a minor bevel.
F: Breaks the photorealistic feel for me. It nearly looks cartoony.
G: The colour of the glass in the window is a bit odd, but could be justified. Other point of critique is the glass panels aren’t the same width. I’d go nuts if one of my windows was slightly off. And it’s not enough of a difference to have an architectural (sp?) value, but it isn’t symmetrical either. (this might say more about me being neurotic though)
H: The rooftiles don’t have any depth. It’s just a flat plane. Not certain though if they are supposed to be rooftiles, so I won’t pin you down on this.
Now on to three points in the picture I feel are very well executed (don’t want you to get depressed )
I: Very nice modelling
J: Nice detail in this scene. Though I’m not really certain about the scale compared to the size of the door.
K: Another object I wouldn’t have thought of adding myself, but fits in remarkably well.
Like I already said; I think this is a very good image. The main reason I didn’t give you a very high mark is to try and get you to take it to killer quality. Remember: never mind how good your work is, there’s always room for improvement.
a portuguese house?
form this angle is just a house
dont do the effect of rocks only arround the window but to all walls
and the stones should be more gray a portuguese house(depends from region to region) most of the houses have of granite(a grey stone)
that is my opinion
im form portugal
but is are regionals details region to region change if u put here me here a white and blue house will be tipical to:P
chairs?that chairs are from public gardens not from typic houses
we are not so small… the door is too tiny
you have to learn is to make windows in houses they should be nivelled
almost forgot… typic house all made of stones dont have walls of cement:P
This is my new render. Forget the tree, first time I rendered it, it looked ok, but now it looks like slop, and it took a really long time to render, and I’d like to render next time I make some creitical changes.
Same thing with the tree, except the side of the house is ripped off.
