A quite large chrome monkey render

http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/9817/hugemonkey8tq.jpg

I am starting to use Blender agin, after a year of not really using it. Nothing special here.

Oh, and just so you know, this image is 3200 pixels X 2400 pixels.

The shadow isn’t real, it’s just a halo blend procedural texture used to slash render times.

Very nice,

Can you give some details about your render setting and material ?

Did it is rendered with Blender internal or Yafray ?

I used Blender internal, this image as the background, these material settings, and a plane with this texture on it to fake a shadow.

This is remarkably similar to something I did… (as a material test)

Wow, you added a primitave, put mirror shader on and loaded and HDRI. This is truly sad. I would have expected better from someone that has been here for over two years, this is no better than a sphere render, honestly.

Dither in output panel, render buttons, can get rid of the banding in background plane

jackj, at least we got Rating in this forum, so cool

Well it’s nothing special about the modelling aspect of it but it’s a very nice render.

As I said, I haven’t used Blender in a long time, but I’m starting to use it again.

That doesn’t mean you have to show us a render we all have our own copies of on our hard drives.

Neither are we lenient against complete newbies, my friend. As BgDM and many other Mods and Admins have said, you must work harder to post within Finished Projects. It is nothing personal but someone cannot expect good comments for basically something they did not make, as Suzanne is a primitive but equally someone Else’s creation; so it is the same as if you downloaded something from a model bank, added a few different shaders and an HDRI and said you made it.

I just went ahead and locked this post, as several people have posted above a material test really doesn’t belong in the finished projects forum.
