I’m quite proud of my little Starburst,
It’s just a little excersise I set for myself.
I know it’s pathetic compared to what you guys are producing.
All positive criticism and suggestions will be appreciated.
Nice job man. I think there is a tutorial somewhere on making fireworks. I have kind of fooled with the idea myself, but it never occured to me to set the length like that. One suggestion though,…you don’t really need to set shadows or OSA for that. It will just slow down the rendering, but won’t produce a noticable effect.
<<<edit>>>
Also, here’s an idea,…try setting keyframes for the color of the emmitor. That way, each firework can have a combination of colors.
Thanks for taking the time to look,
AFAIK the halo particles which makes up most of my animation
are dimentionless, so they are not affected by shadows /lamps
The sphere which emitted them didn’t have any material or texure attached so also not affected by shadows/lamps.
I admit it doesn’t look realistic. Something missing, glow, emit
I cant see a way of adjusting the particles to be more realistic.
I done a tutorial recently that replaces each particle with an object which can have glow etc.
Must find again.
I accept your good critism, doesn’t seem to apply here but it forced me to look into the subject.
Yes, I bet the fireworks have been done before, but I haven’t found one yet.
I think the old fireworks tutorial may have gone by the wayside, but if i see it, i’ll notify you. Also, I thought the way you did it looked pretty realistic. Perhaps a tweak or two, but nothing too drastic.
Wyvern,
Thanks for that link.
The tutorial takes what I was doing a few steps further.
Making the particles emit/glow.
And replacing particles with objects or lamps Which I had suggested.
I’m very pleased, because it was done almost the same way as I done.
So I must me be starting to understand Blender.
