About associating texture to a material

This problem is bugging me for some days, I searched in various places to find an answer but couldn’t; although not technically a ‘problem’, just something I don’t know to do. :stuck_out_tongue:
I’m making a bus for a game, so it’s not high detailed, just as much as the game can handle. Now there aren’t any materials yet, but when I select the ‘body’ object and create a new material, this is how it looks:

And when clicked on the texture tab, it is not associated with this new material but just shows as ‘TexDraw’. Even if I create a texture by clicking the ‘new’ button, it will be linked to TexDraw > Texture and not Body > Material > Texture. Why?

Any suggestions would be helpful…

Use the node editor or press the little button to add a texture node

You’re confusing how the cycles renderer materials work with how the blender render materials work.

If you’re making a game, why are you using the cycles renderer ?
