[Absolute Beginner] Donuts

Hi

This is my first render with Cycles and I’m overall an absolute beginner of Blender, here’s my render, please don’t puke :’(
My “inspiration” comes from a tutorial from BlenderGuru (Introduction to the cycles rendering engine).

Every comments are very welcome

Thank you !

Hello ! I Think taht this render isn’t worst. But some critique… The table doesn’t looks plasticy. Try to use else texture or remake model/texture, add displace. Plates. They actually aren’t bad, maybe you can cast off bit of glossynes. And finally donuts. The texture of topping looks very metallically. Try to mix glossy shader with diffuse shader and play with those nodes.

(Sorry if there are faults, I’m not pro english speaker… :stuck_out_tongue: )

Hi, thank you for your advices ! What do you mean by doesn’t look plasticy ? I hope so, because it’s supposed to be a wood planks floor, I added 0.050 displacement, I’ll try to add some more next time. I have no idea on how to configure the settings with nodes, maybe you could tell me what I could play with please ?

Thanks !

Inspiration means creating something based on impressions on your mind, using any technique.
Following a tutorial means to learn a specific technique.

Hi again. I’l not describe it, but here is image…

Something like this. (Picture is primaly about the model…) And texture…
This is easy texture of material… There are 3 maps of the wood material. AO, Displace and normal texture. Most important is displace, because it adds realistic look to the final material. I add also fresnel. Try this and send result.

Here’s my new render, hope you like it  I used your “crevasse” technique for the floor, I like it, thank you

Feel free to give me any feedback.
