Here’s a music visualization I’ve been working. It combines Art Deco designs (taken from architecture like the Chrysler Building, Empire State Building, Chambellan’s Chanin Building sculpture …) with elements of lighting inspired from live electronic music performances. Some of the visual effects are triggered with the ‘Bake Sound’ function, others are keyed by hand. Rendered in BI 2.63, AE was used for compositing and some additional lighting effects.
Top notch, very nice. One thought in the beginning what if you add some rotation into the scene, either the whole 3 prong piece of some of the background elements, might give it some more interest. Just a though. Thanks for sharing it, enjoyed watching it.
Cheers
Wow, looks great! Though I feel it kind of gets a bit dull during the middle part of the animation. Maybe if the center eq-staples were a bit longer and ‘popped’ more it would have been a bit more interesting. None the less, looks great, excellent work!
Thanks guys. About adding movement - one idea I had initially to add motion in the beginning sequence was to have the different tiers of the chevron pattern in the background spin at different rates, so they would sync up into the 3-prong arrangement every couple of beats.
I went through a lot of other ideas for adding effects and motion to the sculpture …
but in the end, wanted things a bit more static while everything built out, like a mural, so I focused on having some of the lighting elements react to sound.
