Couldn’t find the right category, so I post it in modeling. Is there a way to make an abyss fade into darkness? I need it for a game. There should be no ground visible. If I model it, it would have to be several hundred meters deep until you won’t see the ground. I need a method that would not need much resources, so the game will work properly.
if you can’t use volumetrics (because it’s too heavy) you could create several half transparent planes at different depths?
If you’re using eevee for final rendering you could use lights with negative values.
If the final output is rendered outside blender then some modeling trick like moonboots suggested.
