Acer AL2423WB

Hello,

Is anybody familiar with the 24 inch Acer AL2423WB LCD monitor. All comments are welcome.

kind regards,
Tony

wow, this is a random queston.

No, I have never heard of it, is there something special about it?

hello shadowbane,

I would like to know whether this monitor is well suited for tasks performed with The Gimp, Inkscape and Blender. In other words is it a good buy.

kind regards
Tony

5ms response and 1000:1 contrast ratio sounds great

I just bought a Philips 200WS, not the one you are looking at, but i hope the feedback will help

800:1 contrast, could go higher, but looks great. 20" wide screen, the screen width is more helpful than height to a degree, since you get space for the toolbars, while also having room for a landscape page layout.

The thing to watch for is the flatness of the light areas in the monitor, if its a general purpose display and not a design rated display the rear illumination will be more varied, meaning the top and bottom of the screen will have bright spots. this could be a big deal if you are doing print, but will not be a big deal if you are a general designer/artist.

Don’t worry about the response time, its all BS anyway (below 20ms they say its all made up and theoretical rather than real numbers)

but if its 1000:1 contrast, (look for real contrast/typical contrast rather than the max) then it sounds pretty good. what’s the resolution you are looking at?

Hello Alltaken,

I’ve looked for data concerning your remarks on the flatness of the light and on the contrast. In both cases I could not fine data.

The resolution of this 24 inch monitor is 1920 X 1200.

kind regards,
Tony
