I recently set up my character with some shape keys, now I am looking to blend them based on an objects location.
I know the action constraint does that nicely, however it doesn’t appear to work with shape keys?
Am I doing something wrong or maybe there is another solution?
You can animate the influence of each shape key with a driver, but its not the same as mapping a complete action.
It may be an option anyway: in 2.5 right click in the shapkey slider and add a driver. Then put a Graph Editor in drivers mode, press N to see the panel, add a variable and edit some expressions. You can drive each slider in a different way with a single object.
But it may be some other solution…
Hey, thanks for the info, but unfortunately this wont work for me. I forgot to mention that it also needs to work inside the game engine. Constraints work inside the game engine, that is why I looked into them. Maybe there is a way to get shape keys to work with the action constraint.
