I’m trying to animate the elasmosaur I posted here a while back.I’ve made two actions forit–one for the front flippers flapping and one ofr the rear. I’ve repeated those in the NLA editor to get the thing moving along (constrained to a curve) and now I’d like to just go ahead and do some pose-to-pose to get the neck moving snakily along while it swims. Unfortunately, I can’t get the keys to do do anything. In “pose” mode, no keys are made. Huh? If I try to make an action of theneck motion, keys are generated, but either they don’t do anything or they’re somehow all for the same original position, since the neck keeps snapping back to that. At the same time, the program seems to have generated a plethora of “Actipo” poses? actions?, like Actipo1, Actipo 2, all the way up to forty-something. Again, huh?
I just wanna move a neck around…
An ActIpo is generated for each selected Bone while Keyframed in Pose mode. Unless you unlinked some ActIpo’s there shouldn’t be more of them than you have bones. I can’t help with why you can’t pose the neck, but if you upload a blend it shouldn’t be hard to find.

I’d looooove to upload the blend, but it’s 152MB…Lord knows how it got that way…
EDIT*
After a day and a half of stewing over it, I just realized that my NLA editor button was in “NLA” mode. I switched it back to “Shark Attack” and all is working, I think…
Did yoiu say 1–5–2 mb ? What the heck is in the file? The biggest file I’ve seen before that is “The CrossWalk” cityscape at ~100meg.
Is there other scenery in the file? Or is that just the Armature and mesh?
Delete the mesh and everything else but the Armature or any objects you might be using for driven keys (if you’re using them), then save the file in compressed format ( file menu / compress file). It shouldn’t even approach 1meg in size. …After you delete all that stuff verify the problem is still there Then upload it (4shared.com is a good free site or there’s http://uploader.polorix.net/ run by b.a. member Polorix

EDIT Looks like we were posting at the same time … I’m still curious what the heck you have in that file. Good luck trying to render it unless you have one beast of a machine
That wouldbe wonderful! I’m just experienced enough with Blender to be a danger to myself and others, and I’m still learning all the little places Blender hides data. Actually, the thing renders pretty spiffily, but I have 4 GB of RAM and a quad-core system…
I’d rathernot plaster thefile all over the net, so if you check your personal messages in a few minutes, I’ll send you a link to the file. I just posted it to my own site. Compressed, it’s down to 36MB
