Add selective multiers

I was wondering if it would be possible to only add multiers to a selection. I have only a small portion of a mesh that I want to add multiers to, but even when I select those vertices and click “Add multiers”, the whole mesh is modified.

No, that’s not currently possible without manually splitting up the mesh.

So, if I were to split up the mesh, do that, then rejoin it back into one mesh, would that be possible?
