Added Particles to Plane and Plane Disappears when Rendered

I’m using Windows XP, 1GB RAM, Python 2.4, Blender 2.43.

When I add particles to a plane, the plane is invisible in the render.
Here is the process:
Made plane. Gave it a green material. Added cloud texture. Rendered it. It displayed fine.
I clicked on Physics Button for particles so that I could make grass on this plane. Rendered it - nothing in the render window.
Had 1000 particles, Verts and Faces were selected, Static not selected - nothing in render window.
Selected static. Checked particles settings. Rendered again. Nothing in render window.
Selected Material Button to check alpha. Alpha = 1.

It seems that if I select a plane, apply material, and add texture, it renders.
If I select particles, it does not render.
I deleted the particles and then the plane with texture renders.

Where and what setting is incorrect?

Thanks.

when you change a plane or any object to particles, the particles emit from the vertices of the object. Faces become irrelevant and are not shown.

Hi.
If you want the emiter to render also select the “mesh” button in the particals menu.

Hawka.
